Mail

Campus Mail

Campus mail is delivered to and picked up from Robertson Hall once a day at about 1:30p.m.

U.S. Mail

U.S. mail is delivered directly to Robertson Hall by the U.S. Postal Service between 1:00p.m. and 3:00p.m. Mail is routinely delivered and picked-up between Robertson, Bendheim and Wallace Halls by the Business Office staff at about 10:30 a.m.

All outgoing mail that needs to be posted must be accompanied by a Postage Form and left in the Business Office. If the mail is business it must have an account number; if it is personal it must have cash attached. No mail will be sent without an account number or cash. Stamped personal mail may be placed in the box under the counter of the mail alcove on the 4th floor of Robertson Hall labeled "Outgoing Metered US Mail" where it will be picked up by the U.S. mail carrier.

The School pays the cost of mail that is directly related to the business of the School. Mail generated by work of other departments, programs, University committees, research, etc. should be charged to the appropriate accounts. To add postage to the envelope, the Postage Form must be filled out and brought to the Facilities Office before noon for posting and mail pick-up that day.

Mail properly chargeable to WWS should be placed in the Facilities Office. If not intended to go First Class, the form and envelope or wrapping should be clearly marked to indicate another class of mail service, such as "Book Rate," "Third Class," etc. The appropriate form should be used when mailing three or more pieces of mail. Use the proper account number; if in doubt about the account number, please contact the Manager of Financial Services.

Express Service

Federal Express and UPS make daily pick-ups from the Business Office. The Fed-Ex/UPS Request Form must be filled out completely before a package can be processed.

Federal Express picks up by 4:00 p.m. in the Business Office and by 6:00 p.m. in the FedEx drop box, located behind Corwin Hall. UPS ground packages get delivered by the Business office staff to the campus mail room each day by 3:00. Packages must be in the Business office by 2:30 to ensure it goes out that day. Fed-Ex packages must be in the Facilities Office by 3:00 p.m. for pick-up that day.

Location of Boxes

Faculty and staff mailboxes in Robertson Hall are located in the alcove opposite Room 423, in Wallace Hall adjacent to Room 353, and in Bendheim Hall beside Room 121.

Graduate and undergraduate student mailboxes are located on the first floor of Robertson Hall, near the graduate and undergraduate program offices.

Forwarding of Mail

Faculty

Mail for faculty on leave is handled by his/her support person.

When a faculty member resigns, retires or is terminated from the University, his/her mail will be forwarded by the support staff for a period of up to three months following the date of termination. If the faculty member remains in active service with the University after retirement, this policy does not apply. Other unusual circumstances surrounding retirement should be discussed with the Facilities Administrator. It is the faculty member's responsibility to provide a forwarding address to their support staff so the mail can be forwarded during this time period.

Graduate Alumni

When a student graduates from the University, his/her mail will be forwarded by the Woodrow Wilson School's Career Services Office for a period of up to three months following the date of graduation. It is the student's responsibility to provide a forwarding address to the Career Services Office so the mail can be forwarded during this time period. Details on providing this information will be sent from the Director of Graduate Career Services and Alumni Relations in May.

Zip Codes

The U.S. Postal Service has assigned an exclusive zip code designation to the Woodrow Wilson School - 08544-1013. Please include the zip code as well as the sender's name on all pieces of outgoing mail.
