Support for Handheld Devices

BlackBerry

OIT provides  Blackberry service for Outlook Exchange users.  BlackBerry services enable people to have access to their Exchange mail and calendaring information in real time, whenever they need it.

iPhone

Although the BlackBerry is the preferred PDA, WWS Computing Services does provide support for the iPhone.

  • iPhone software v2.0 supports push delivery for email, calendar and contacts for Exchange accounts
  • iPhone fetches email at set intervals from IMAP accounts
  • iTunes is used for synchronizing data over USB connections. Calendar and contacts are synchronized with Outlook (Windows), or Entourage, Apple iCal or Apple Address Book (Mac) over a USB cable when not using an Exchange account.
