The spring/summer 2006 edition of the Woodrow Wilson School magazine, WWS News, is now available online (PDF format). Produced by the School's Office of External Affairs, the latest edition of this quarterly publication highlights faculty, student, and program and center policy initiatives and research ongoing at WWS. The magazine features articles on the 93 WWS graduate degrees conferred at the University's 259th commencement exercises; on the School's 17 M.P.A.s who were awarded Presidential Management Fellowships; a report on democracy promotion and counterterrorism in the Middle East; commentary from Ambassador Daniel Kurtzer, the S. Daniel Abraham Chair of Middle- East Policy Studies, on the historic 2006 Israeli elections and the potential impact on the prospect for Mideast peace; and details of WWS students' investigations into the changing roles and challenges of the United Nations. The spring/summer 2006 edition of WWS News also includes faculty spotlights focusing on the induction of Robert O. Keohane, WWS Professor of International Affairs, into the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C.; Professor of Economics and Public Affairs and Emeritus Princeton University President Harold Shapiro's receipt of the American Advancement of Sciences William Carey Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Science Policy; and Professor of Molecular Biology and Public Affairs Lee Silver's discussions at the New York Academy of Sciences and Council on Foreign Relations on the major themes of his latest book, "Challenging Nature."
