WWS/Brookings release latest issue of Future of Children, "Opportunity in America"

The Woodrow Wilson School and the Brookings Institution have announced the release of the newest volume of the jointly published policy journal, The Future of Children, titled "Opportunity in America" (Volume 16, Number 2, Fall 2006).

The issue, co-edited by Sara McLanahan, Director of the Woodrow Wilson School's Bendheim-Thoman Center for Research on Child Wellbeing and Isabel Sawhill, Senior fellow and Co-Director of the Center on Children and Families at the Brookings Institution, focuses on the extent to which children's chances of success depend on the circumstances into which they are born.

A policy brief (PDF Format) summarizing the issue and its key findings, authored by Sawhill, is also available.

The Future of Children is a publication of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and the Brookings Institution. The Future of Children seeks to promote effective policies and programs for children by providing policymakers, service providers, and the media with timely, objective information based on the best available research.
