Workshop "Rising States; Rising Institutions" to be held Aug. 25 - 27

A three-day workshop on global institutional reform titled “Rising States, Rising Institutions,” will be held August 25 – 27 on the  Princeton campus.  The invitation-only event will convene past and current global governance researchers and experts in international relations, economics, international security, law, and management, who will examine the means by which global governance can encourage international development and economic growth, and maintain peace and stability.

The Woodrow Wilson School’s dean, Anne-Marie Slaughter, G. John Ikenberry, the Albert G. Milbank Professor of Politics and International Affairs at WWS; and Andrew Moravcsik, Professor of Politics and International Affairs, will be among the key participants.

The conference is a biennial event that examines “effective multilateralism” in 21st century international relations.  It is designed to allow researchers to present their current research on global governance and global governance reform.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School and the Center for International Governance Innovation’s BRICSAM  project. The project focuses on the impact rapidly growing economies in Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the ASEAN states, and Mexico have on global economic growth, shifting economic power and international governance.
